Draft Prospectus is my mid-life crisis, take control of my own life and march to my own drummer moment. Since becoming a father in 2002, I have continued to examine my life and how I was going to be the best father and husband. I believe that the two go hand in hand. They say “If Momma’s happy everyone’s is happy.” Not so in my home. Both my wonderful wife (Sherri) and my awesome son (Austin) know the key to happiness in our home is daddy being happy. In April 2003 I ran into a childhood friend, Robby Corsaro, who works for the Florida Marlins. We had a brief conversation about baseball and scouting as he was evaluating a High School Pitcher from Upland. I had lots of questions about the mysterious occupation. I can really get paid to watch baseball? Robby agreed to meet me the next day at a different High School so we could continue our conversation. I went straight to the computer and started my research about a team I admittedly knew nothing about. I came prepared for the meeting, notes in hand, about the entire 25 man roster. Hoping to impress Robby with my research skills and knowledge, I attempted to carry on an intelligent conversation. I was selling my knowledge and spinning the conversation when there was silence. Robby says “That’s great, but who on this field am I here to see?” I respond, “What these are just kids, under developed raw teenagers. How would I know?” It wasn’t like there was a man-child with big league skills, a man amongst boys on the diamond. Robby told me “just watch” and that’s exactly what I did.
